The International Music Festival in Yaroslavl
For the third year, the International Music Festival in Yaroslavl, with artistic director Yuri Bashmet, brings together the leading Russian and foreign musicians.
Such renowned musicians as Sir James Galway (UK), Kristof Barati (Hungary), Claudio Vandelli (Italy), Soloists’ sextet of Berlin Philharmonic, Mayu Kishima (Japan), Vadim Repin (Russia), Elizaveta Leonskaya (Austria) and many others are among the list of participants of the previouse editioins of the festival. The Grammy Award Winner of 2008 Chamber Ensemble "Moscow Soloists" and State Symphony Orchestra "Novaya Rossiya" (New Russia) are the resident orchestras of the festival.

"More than 50 concerts have been already written for violist Bashmet. The world premier of viola concerto by Igor Raykhelson will be performed for the audiences of Yaroslavl. Other festival days will come with eventful programme as well." Komsomolskaya Pravda.
The highlights of the Third International Music Festival in Yaroslavl of 2011 are the concert of legendary Sir James Galway, the performance of Hendel’s “Music for the Fireworks” by Moscow Soloists chamber ensemble and Yuri Bashmet, the concert of the famous Baroque Chamber Ensemble "Hortus Musicus" and the performance of Shchedrin’s "Carmen Suite" by the world ballet stars.
The Fourth International Music Festival in Yaroslavl will be held from 9th till 16th of May 2012.
